The short answer
Should I do yesterday's workout and today's in one day?
No. Do not stack two full sessions. Keep today's main work, fold in the main lift from the missed day, and drop the lowest value accessories. If today is already a hard day, or you have already missed twice this week, let the missed session go and continue the plan.
What to preserve
The useful recovery is the main stimulus from the missed day, not every accessory that was written under it.
- Today's main lift or skill
- The main lift from the missed day, when that day still matters this week
- Enough time and freshness for the next planned session
Make the change in this order
- Refuse the double dayTwo full sessions in one visit blow the time window, fatigue the second lift, and steal quality from tomorrow. That is a new problem, not a repair.
- Keep today's main workToday still has a job. Start there. The missed day does not get to overwrite a session that is already in front of you.
- Add only the missed main liftBring across the top one or two main movements from yesterday. Cut today's extras down to one accessory. The combined day should still finish in a normal window.
- Know when to let it goIf yesterday and today hit the same muscle group, if tomorrow is already hard, or if this is the third miss of the week, skip the makeup and continue. Repeated misses mean the calendar needs fewer days. A bigger next session does not fix that.
Where this answer changes
- If the miss followed illness, sharp pain, or injury symptoms, the question is readiness and care, not how to cram the work.
- Two hard versions of the same lift on one day are not a merge. That is the original problem with a new timestamp.
- Three misses in a week are a schedule problem. Cutting a day from the plan is cleaner than stacking the remainder.
Inside the product
How Aion handles this decision
Aion will not stack two full workouts. When you ask to fold a miss into today, it keeps today's main work, brings across up to two main movements from the missed session, and keeps at most one accessory. The combined day is capped so it does not become a marathon. After two misses in a week it stops merging and continues the block.
